Using technique instead of force
through the art of yielding at the right moment
At the Show Riding School Rabea Schmale, special breeds such as Frisians, Irish Travellers' Cobs, Pura Raza Espanola, Arabians, and even Iceland Horses are trained in classic dressage up to high school level. This includes not only riding to perfection, but also schooling the horses in hand in lessons such as Spanish walk, piaffe, passage, walking on two tracks such as shoulder-in, travers and half-pass, and also circus lessons:compliment, kneeling, lying down, lying flat, sitting, Spanish salute, polka and other ground lessons.
Stallions require particularly calm and consequent training. Rabea Schmale stimulates your stallion's natural talents and enables him to fully employ them both in training and in daily work. She does justice to every horse, from playful and gentle breaking to saddle to exclusive basic training that is both ambitious and versatile.
It always pays to invest in good training, because each new lesson a horse learns increases its value, and the owners, too, profit from the lessons Rabea Schmale provides.
The newly erected indoor area is the centrepiece of the riding facility. The horses are kept in roomy and light outdoor stalls. There are also extra large stalls for horses that require more room, such as Shire horses. The facilities include several acres of pasture that are divided into individual sections. It should be pointed out that the school specializes in training stallions. All stallions have access to paddocks. Special emphasis is placed on individual feeding and care. Rabea Schmale personally supervises modern guidelines, rationing and quality of the feed and the bedding, and the health of the horses.
Rabea Schmale is a qualified equestrian trainer much in demand in many areas because of her many years of experience with baroque horses and constantly continued education.
For training a young horse, a minimum of 12 weeks are required. The horses are trained five times per week, and the owner may take private lessons by request. It goes without saying that the horses are introduced to work under saddle without any means of coercion such as running-reins. They are taught obedience, respect and trust through the means of body language and a profound knowledge of equine psychology and anatomy.
